Loved you making case for Seiko. I grew up with Seiko watches and love them ... It was in every man and woman wrists in the 70's...the women autos are more intriguing for being so little and tiny ....imagine putting together those movements.

Thanks! I will save this, and use it to settle arguments! I could buy a Seiko a day. Currently, I am recovering from a stroke. (I lived. The recovery? A work in progress..) while rehabbing and therapy, I usually change Seikos twice a day.

I had a run of duff Seiko watches. Duff bezel on a Samurai, 1965 Recreation, Seiko 5 dive style watch and terrible reliability on two 6r35 movements. I love the design but I just don’t trust them. My new beater is a Citizen NY0040. Cheap as chips and so far it’s great.

The Seiko company really has everything for every one, from a simple quartz wall clock to a Grand Seiko Tourbillon, or even Credor masterpieces. I mean Hans Waldorf tried to offer more affordable watches by creating Tudor, but no watch company can match Seiko in terms of diversity and technology. And they made everything in house, that’s crazy.

I bought my SKX007 at Iwakuni Marine Air Base in 2004. It’s never been serviced and is still going strong.

I have friends who love Alfa Romeos, MGs, and Triumphs. Do they love them because they're the pinnacle of automotive engineering or because they'll run until the sun goes supernova? Hardly. Maybe they think other people will be impressed or envy them. Nope. They love them because they love them. A person who buys something because of what other people think of that thing is most likely not someone I want to be around. But someone who buys something because they love it and it makes them happy, that's someone I could probably hang out with.

Better than an Omega Co-Axial... steady on old bean... I have the 9900 & 9904 Omega movements, and my Grand Seiko Snowflake Spring Drive is more accurate. 😊

Seiko got me into mechanical watches. I love Japan and everything Japanese, I only drive Japanese cars, mostly Honda's. Way too many Honda's. haha. When I learned about Seiko, their history, innovation, unique design, both high end and affordable watches. I had to get me one, I thought I was only going to get one and now I am on my seventh Seiko in nine months of being into watches. haha

Lol not everyone loves Seiko. I pretty much hate it. Low priced hormage that is unreliable and easy to break. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Cheers

I own a Seiko presage snr037 with spring drive. It is my daily watch and I love it. It is the perfect match between classic and innovation

Some of their dials are absolutely fantastic. Right now, I am fixated on their Urushi dials. 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻

The problem is these watches are boring and overpriced. Circula has a new pilot's watch that is anti magnetic, 150 meters waterproof, Swiss movement, 1200 Vickers hardness coating, Swiss superlumimova applied ideces, and an original case and dial design for less than $1000. A much better looking watch that isn't just banking on heritage to jack up the price. Seriously sometimes I think the watch community is a joke. OMG! They made a Speedy with a white dial!!!!

Seiko owner since the early 80s and I concur with every word you've said!

Although today I'm wearing my Sub, my first watch I purchased with my own money was Seiko 5 back in 1969. Since then I have added few more Seiko's to my collection. They're practically bullet proof although accuracy is suspect at times. One of my favorites is the SKX 007 and probably with worst accuracy. By the way, I still own that very first Seiko 5.

The Full Metal G-Shock identity seems to be 'professional / business casual', creating the new category between "luxury" and "sporty".

I feel like there are too few reviews of Seiko Luxe watches online, especially the sharp edge. I have the green version. I would love to see you review a sharp edge or one of the luxe presage models if you can get your hands on them.

Seiko used to be “so much bang for buck” But IF you pay rrp for a Seiko I feel that value is gone Although the Swiss market has done the same thing 😂 I do agree Seiko delivers a robust watch which will last a lifetime I’ve tried to love Seiko Owned many - but didn’t bond so I have none

I'm honestly not a raving Anglophile or anything, but one of the things I really like about this channel is Britt's use of the Pound as the main unit of currency. Ironic, given that so many Brit (no pun intended) creators use the almighty Dollar on their channels! 😂

New collector here and I just bought a Series 5 as my first mechanical watch. Paid around $200. Very pleased so far. For the money, it sure seems like a good value

Really, this video would be accurate 8 years ago, but they suck on specs vs price now. No sapphire, bad clasps/bracelets with prices generally twice as much as they were. Really some Ali express watches are waaaaay better value spec monsters with a Seiko movement. It’s a whole new rabbit hole to dive into. If you ever want to look at a few different ones in person, I’d be happy to send you a selection of my own to play with.

"Accuracy" ratings, like WR ratings are not about capability - they are about warranty or liability. Seiko, producing so many watches don't want people bringing them back for regulation unless they are beyond the generous tolerances - that's how they keep their prices low. Also: servicing Seiko mechanicals is ridiculously cheap in N.America, so I like their service model.

My first Seiko was a Seiko 5 automatic on a blue faux nato strap 10 years ago. It cost $60 on Amazon. I checked the same model now. $220. Glad I got in in the basement
